Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest. Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesJoin our team as a Certified Sterile Processing Tech. In the Certified Sterile Processing Tech role you will:
- Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.
- Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment.
- Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified.
- Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR.
- Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments.

Job RequirementsIn addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Computer skills required
- CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. required
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
