Position Overview

As an Auto Technician Apprentice, you'll be at the forefront of the Safelite experience, using industry-leading training and tools to perform repairs, replacements, and recalibrations, whether in our shop or through our Mobile Glass Shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all vehicle glass repair and replacement services with a focus on quality, safety, and exceptional customer service.
  • Clean customer vehicles following each job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshooting and diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Use Safelite’s advanced tools and technology effectively.
  • Safely operate both company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate effectively with customers through various channels, promoting Safelite’s products and services.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed, while complying with all company policies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive weekly pay starting at $22.25/hour, increasing to $26.50/hour after training and certification.
  • Earn additional bonuses for added services such as wiper blades.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.
  • Completion of Safelite SafeTech certification is mandatory.

Experience Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and comply with vehicle safety standards.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals as necessary.
  • Adapts work hours to meet customer needs with flexibility.
  • Skilled in using computerized diagnostic tools to assist in recalibrations.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting English language directions.
  • Professional appearance consistent with company standards.
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain performance standards.

This role involves driving responsibilities monitored for safety compliance.
