Forge ahead with WSB. We are seeking Staff Accountant to add to our growing team. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Oklahoma City office and support accurate financial reporting, project accounting, and month-end processes. In this role, you will help streamline workflows, ensure data integrity, and partner closely with project teams across the firm. What you will do:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end closings
  • Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
  • Verify employee credit cards and expense reimbursements have been approved by supervisors with required documentation
  • Assist in vendor ACH payment process, verifying accuracy and uploading for approval
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting as needed
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience; experience in the engineering, architecture, or construction (AEC) industry is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Deltek, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting principles (preferred)
  • Understanding of cost accounting or job costing practices (preferred)
  • Experience working with government or municipal contracts is a plus (preferred)
