Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: WOW (Fri-Sun) Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist preferred License: Registered in Radiologic Technology Certifications: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card Must-Have: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to perform and teach CT exams for satisfactory diagnostic images - Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations Description: The CT Technologist will produce computerized tomography scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by the physician. Technologists will assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists. They will be responsible for the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures. Technologists will obtain correct written orders for procedures following established protocols. Efficient time management is essential to meet patient care assignments while maintaining quality, quantity, and timeliness expectations. They will instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent as needed. Effective communication with family members regarding discharge instructions is required. Technologists will ensure correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories are entered into the computer system. Adherence to hospital and departmental safety policies is crucial. Practicing good radiation protection and following established guidelines is expected. Technologists will complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure requirements. They will promote and support departmental efforts in achieving established projects and goals. Collaboration with other team members and demonstrating flexibility and accountability in job duties is essential. Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients is required. Exposure to a healthcare environment includes potential contact with blood, body fluids, and infectious materials. Knowledge of current regulations and standards is necessary for safe practice.
