What You'll Be Up To
- Performing comprehensive evaluations for patients, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and establishing customized care strategies
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions alongside physicians or independently (based on your credentialing)
- Providing education to patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies
- Prescribing medications and treatment modalities in adherence to your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up and managing chronic care
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, holistic healthcare
- Documenting patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alaska
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- A keen clinical judgment coupled with a warm bedside manner
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility to thrive in fast-paced, patient-centered care settings
- Proficiency with EMR systems and comfort with telehealth technologies
