Job Description - Inventory Control Lead
The Inventory Control Lead is essential for optimizing and managing inventory processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. This role is also dedicated to building a talented team to support organizational growth and improve overall operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Direct leadership and coordination of the inventory department, guiding a team of approximately 20 members.
- Oversee and assess inventory control measures including daily, weekly, and monthly counts; ensure compliance with regulatory standards and distribution center processes.
- Identify and communicate root causes of inventory discrepancies with management to develop corrective actions.
- Analyze quality assurance metrics and collaborate with operations managers to address quality issues effectively.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of inventory movement and performance, troubleshooting inefficiencies and informing management of key performance indicators.
- Review performance trends and develop action plans for remedial strategies to ensure optimal inventory flow and quality.
- Strategically manage Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) for distribution centers, ensuring efficient inventory placement for safe picking and accuracy.
- Regularly consult with management to discuss operational methods and staffing to facilitate effective product movement.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and maintain overall inventory health.
- Manage inventory budgets, aiming to reduce shrinkage effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive audit processes that are accurate and aligned with company standards.
- Drive improvements in location fill rates while managing relationships within the inventory team and vendor networks.
- Provide customer service oversight while maintaining accountability for inventory valued at $30MM-$50MM.
- Address challenges by collaborating across shifts to remove barriers and resolve issues promptly.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in Supply Chain or Distribution Management with a strong focus on analytics.
- Experience within a warehouse or distribution center setting, including inventory tracking and offering direction to team members.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
