This opportunity is ideal for a registered nurse with specialized experience in cardiovascular operating rooms seeking a rewarding contract position in Houston, TX. The role focuses on delivering exceptional perioperative care in a busy surgical environment with a strong emphasis on cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include: Performing and assisting with complex cardiovascular surgeries such as on-pump and off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), vascular bypass procedures, and carotid endarterectomy. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including circulators, surgical techs, anesthesia staff, and nurse techs to ensure seamless patient care. Maintaining accurate patient records using the Meditech electronic medical record system. Participating in call coverage Monday through Friday evenings with potential shift adjustments as the team expands. Qualifications and desired experience: Active RN license with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Minimum of 3 years recent experience specifically in cardiovascular OR nursing. Proven skills in managing on and off pump CABG procedures. Preferred candidates will have additional vascular surgery experience. Strong work ethic and ability to function as a team player in a fast-paced surgical setting. Facility and Unit Overview:Join a specialized surgical department equipped with 11 operating rooms and a cystoscopy room located in a main building on the first floor. The team comprises 31 dedicated staff members working day shifts with no overnight shifts. Patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:1 enhance focused, individualized patient care.
