Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will provide exceptional pharmacy consulting services to patients, ensuring their understanding of medications and drug interactions. You will offer preventive healthcare services, including immunizations and diagnostic testing while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. Your leadership will enhance pharmacy workflow, improve financial performance, and elevate patient experience by managing and developing pharmacy staff effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
Patient Experience
- Deliver an engaging and compassionate patient experience by greeting customers and assisting with their needs.
- Model and communicate customer service best practices across the team to create a positive and welcoming pharmacy environment.
- Anticipate patient needs and promote healthcare services, shifting the pharmacy interaction from transactional to relational.
- Participate in community events that resonate with the unique needs of local populations.
Operations
- Provide counsel to patients regarding medication usage, possible side effects, and interactions, while ensuring correct information and support.
- Perform pharmacist duties including compounding, reviewing, and accurately dispensing medications.
- Supervise pharmacy operations to comply with all regulations and internal procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and completing shift responsibilities.
- Implement Good Faith Dispensing policy and ensure compliance with controlled substance laws.
- Collaborate with management to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy systems, ensuring adequate support for staff and opportunity for productivity improvements.
- Process insurance claims accurately and address issues with patients and providers as needed.
- Engage in clinical services, including immunizations and wellness initiatives, to better serve the community.
- Oversee pharmacy maintenance and operations to ensure a clean and efficient working environment.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports in accordance with state and federal laws.
People & Performance Management
- Partner with management on hiring and compliance with employment regulations; handle disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Set goals and foster teamwork by implementing reward programs to recognize staff achievements.
- Identify and support the career development of high-potential team members through coaching and mentorship.
- Maintain team morale by addressing employee concerns and fostering a supportive work environment.
Training & Personal Development
- Stay current with required licensing and certification to deliver clinical services.
- Enhance knowledge in pharmacy and healthcare through continuous education and engagement with industry publications.
- Complete necessary training and education credits as mandated by the company.
- Seek feedback for personal growth and leverage management for mentorship.
Communications
- Support pharmacy management by conveying relevant corporate health information to staff members to ensure everyone is informed.
Business Performance Management
- Analyze pharmacy performance metrics including financials and customer service to identify areas for improvement.
Business Planning
- Foster relationships with the local healthcare community to promote pharmacy services and enhance growth opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in applicable states.
- Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
- A minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience in dispensing, compliance, and operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of controlled substance regulations and pharmacy laws.
- A minimum performance rating of 3.0 in leadership behaviors, with no disciplinary actions within the last 12 months for internal applicants.

Preferred Qualifications:
