Senior Director of Clinical Services

This Senior Director role for our Child Guidance Center, reporting to the Chief Programs Officer, with strong collaboration with the CMO/CCO, carries the elevated responsibility for strategic clinical leadership, programmatic vision, and operational oversight of the Outpatient Programs. As a key leader, this position ensures that services are trauma-informed, multi-occurring, and strengths-based, while aligning closely with the organization's mission and strategic initiatives. The Senior Director will foster a collaborative, integrated approach within the division and across the organization, promoting service excellence and advancing community impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to the philosophy, values, commitments and practices of the Sanctuary model in guiding the day-to-day interactions with clients, families and staff.
- Ensures that Orchard Place employee practices actively support a culture that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Clinical Strategy and Program Leadership: Provide overarching clinical direction and strategic vision for all outpatient programs. Oversee program supervisors, ensuring program compliance and alignment with evolving clinical standards and regulations.
- Training and Development Leadership: Develop and oversee consultation schedules, in-service training, and on-call assignments. Prioritize the professional development of clinical staff by identifying training needs and implementing strategies to enhance skills and competencies.
- Integrated Service Delivery: Leverage an integrated approach across organizational departments and divisions, fostering cross-functional collaborations that enhance the quality of client care.
- Advanced Case Consultation: Serve as a senior clinical resource for supervisors and therapists, addressing complex cases, providing guidance, and promoting best practices in clinical care.
- Productivity and Performance Management: Partner with supervisors to foster a culture of excellence, providing leadership to achieve program productivity targets in a constructive and supportive manner.
- Recruitment, Retention, and Recognition: Collaborate with the COO and HR to support recruitment, retention, and recognition initiatives. Establish robust orientation and ongoing training programs to ensure that staff growth aligns with organizational needs.
- Executive-Level Reporting and Accountability: Deliver high-level program analysis and reporting to the CPO, executive leadership, and external stakeholders as needed. Oversee program evaluations to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Fiscal Oversight and Strategic Financial Planning: Take full accountability for the financial stewardship of outpatient programs. Develop and manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and drive fiscal efficiency while meeting programmatic goals.
- Strategic Vision and Community Responsiveness: Collaborate closely with the COO to shape and implement a strategic vision that positions the Child Guidance Center as a leader in child and family mental health services. Anticipate and respond proactively to community and client needs.
- Community Engagement and Partnerships: Enhance community partnerships by actively representing the Center in stakeholder meetings and community presentations, fostering relationships that advance the organization's reach and reputation.
- Client Services: Maintain a small therapeutic caseload (1-3 clients) to stay engaged in direct service delivery, while dedicating time to community presentations that advocate for child mental health.
- Ethical Standards and Integrity: Demonstrate a commitment to high ethical standards and integrity, ensuring all clinical and administrative actions are conducted with professionalism, transparency, and respect.
- Education: Master's Degree or higher in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related clinical field.
- Licensure: Independent licensure as a mental health practitioner.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct clinical service experience with children, youth, and families, and 3 years of progressive supervisory and administrative experience post-licensure.
- Skills: Demonstrated experience with diverse populations, with expertise in supporting clients living in poverty and individuals facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams, with strong skills in strategic thinking, program development, and financial stewardship.
