We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide one-on-one support for a child with intellectual disabilities, including non-verbal autism and ADHD. The caregiver will play a vital role in ensuring the child's safety, assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), and transporting the child to counseling/therapy services three times a week. Must pick up client from his home in New Kent and transported to Williamsburg Virginia. After therapy client must be transported back home to New Kent.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities (feeding, dressing, hygiene, and supervision).
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to and from counseling services(35 minutes away).
- Offer patience, consistency, and structured support in daily routines.
- Promote a positive and supportive environment tailored to the child's needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding progress and concerns.
- Experience required: Minimum of 1-2 years working with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of autism, ADHD, and non-verbal communication strategies.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required).
- CNA/NA/PCA certificate CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Must pass background check and provide references.
- Schedule: 3 days per week, aligned with counseling appointment times.
- Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications.
