Outpatient Physical Therapist

Join MedStar Health as an Outpatient Physical Therapist and make a meaningful impact at Therapy @ Chevy Chase - North. We seek a dedicated and licensed physical therapist who is a general practitioner in the field, with excellent communication skills to engage with patients and their families from diverse backgrounds.
In this role, you'll provide comprehensive physical therapy services that include screening, evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation. You will also participate in program planning and protocol development, contributing to the team's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough evaluations, including reviewing patient history and performing specific assessments to inform treatment recommendations. Clearly explain findings and involve patients and families in goal-setting.
Implement effective treatment protocols based on evaluations and patient needs, consulting with other healthcare professionals as necessary. Monitor and document patient progress, adapting plans as needed.
Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring accurate documentation and timely charges for services. Prepare comprehensive notes that capture the patient's entire course of care, from initial evaluations to discharge summaries.
Exhibit strong time management and meet productivity standards while maintaining a flexible and patient-centered approach to care.
Take charge of your professional development by pursuing continuing education opportunities. Participate in mentoring and orientation for new staff, students, and volunteers, and actively contribute to improving patient access and care quality.
Qualifications:
Degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral).
Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Current licensure in Maryland, Washington D.C., and/or Virginia as required for your location.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD $72,758.00 to USD $130,041.00 per year.
