With seating for up to 700 guests, we're a bustling hotspot during peak season, and we're looking for hardworking and dedicated kitchen workers to join our team

Your Role as a Kitchen Worker:

As a kitchen worker, you'll be an essential part of our back-of-house team, ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. While you won't have direct guest interaction, your role is vital to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and cleanliness that de Lazy Lizard is known for. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in food prep, including chopping, cutting, and assembling ingredients for dishes.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are met.
  • Operating kitchen equipment like grills, fryers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
  • Helping with dishwashing and cleaning tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assisting chefs and other kitchen staff as needed to ensure timely preparation of food orders.
  • Ensuring food is stored properly and keeping inventory levels stocked.
Food and Safety Compliance: At de Lazy Lizard, we follow all food safety laws to ensure the health and well-being of our guests. As part of this, kitchen workers are required to:
  • Wear hair nets to keep hair secured and away from food.
  • Wear gloves when handling food, cleaning, or performing any tasks that require direct contact with dishes or ingredients.
  • Follow all hygiene practices, including hand washing and sanitizing workstations regularly.
  • Adhere to all food storage and temperature guidelines to ensure food safety.
This is a physically demanding role that requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food prep role is preferred, but not required.

  • Physically capable of standing, lifting, and moving throughout your shift.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
