Who are we looking for?
At GHD we are looking for a new Graduate Environmental Engineer to join the CAR team at our St. Paul, MN office. In this role you will research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures.
- Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
- Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Waste Management: Support waste management efforts, aiding in waste segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment.
- Project Coordination: Support others by carrying out a range of project coordination activities.
- Report Preparation: Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
- Data Evaluation: Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards.
- Field Work: Opportunity to respond to environmental emergencies/emergency response to perform field tasks.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering.
- General Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related field.
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
- Engineering in Training certification is a plus.
- Willingness to respond to call outs during non-routine working hours.
- Willingness to travel, including overnights, to project sites in the Midwest. Travel is expected up to 50% of the time.

- Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
- Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.-Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience and location.
