1) Greeters

Greeters are the warm first impression of the event. As guests arrive for the Fundraising Showcase, Greeters welcome them with positive energy, provide directions, and ensure everyone feels comfortable and informed. Greeters will guide attendees toward check-in, seating, and the performance space, while answering basic questions about the event, the venue, and Urban Poets’ Urban Art Collab program. Please be mindful this is as at a restaurant so we want to be courteous and work with the restaurant staff as well.

Ideal for volunteers who: enjoy interacting with people, have great communication skills, and want to help create a smooth, inviting guest experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and direct guests upon arrival
  • Assist with check-in and confirming RSVPs
  • Help manage the flow of guests into the venue and seating area
  • Provide general event information
  • Maintain an upbeat, friendly presence throughout the evening

2) Event Setup & Breakdown Volunteers

This team plays a vital role in bringing the Fundraising Showcase to life. Setup & Breakdown Volunteers assist with preparing the event space before doors open and restoring it afterward. Tasks may include arranging chairs, setting up signage, organizing performer areas, assembling display tables, and supporting light décor needs. After the event concludes, volunteers will help reset the venue by collecting materials, breaking down equipment, and ensuring the space is left clean and orderly.

Ideal for volunteers who: enjoy hands-on tasks, are organized, and want to support the event behind the scenes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with room layout and seating setup
  • Place signage, décor, and materials as needed
  • Help prepare check-in and performer areas
  • Support audio/visual or stage setup under staff direction
  • Break down chairs, signage, tables, and equipment after the event
  • Help leave the venue clean and restored
