Description
Job Summary:The Youth Enrichment Aide will assist in the instruction of children based upon program guidelines. Responsible for assisting the teacher in building a safe and nurturing environment, fostering a culture and love of exploration and curiosity through hands-on learning. Our Youth program engages students through our STREAM (Science, Teamwork, Recreation, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) educational approach.This position averages less than 20 hours per week from late August through late May, with the opportunity for reduced hours during June and July based on program needs and scheduling within the Park District.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist in the instruction and leadership of children in a fun environment while teaching specific class requirements.
- Provide a safe nurturing environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe activity room.
- Maintain an organized schedule.
- Provide positive and professional communication with customers.
- Report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the instructor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:Highschool graduate or GED; or at least one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Energetic, driven, creative and dependable professional with demonstrated leadership skills is a plus. Stellar classroom management and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver's License
American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification preferred
Related field certification
Wage Range:$16.00 - $18.50 per hour
