PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to support program initiatives for a major aerospace and defense subcontractor in San Jose, CA. This opportunity is ideal for experienced CAD professionals with a background in military or defense-related design work, especially those with hands-on experience in Creo 9 and a strong understanding of MBD and GD&T.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create mechanical and electromechanical design concepts for high-complexity components and assemblies.
  • Prepare and review complex drawing packages to meet military and ASME standards.
  • pply advanced CAD methodologies and 3D modeling techniques using Creo 9.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendors to meet design goals.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ensure designs meet functional, integration, and producibility requirements while maintaining compliance with MIL-STD and other specifications.
  • Validate designs for integration, fit, finish, and performance within the production environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Creo 9 required.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in mechanical design/drafting with Pro-E/Creo.
  • Proficient in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MIL-SPECs, defense documentation standards, and engineering drawings.
  • ssociate degree in engineering drafting/design or equivalent training plus nine years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to federal program restrictions.
  • Must be able to work onsite in San Jose - remote work is not available.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
  • Prior experience with defense platforms, particularly combat vehicle systems.
  • Background working in cross-functional engineering environments involving product lifecycle integration.
