Position Summary

The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing consistent, high-quality patient care through health assessments, prescription management, and close collaboration with physicians. This role demands a strong commitment to patient safety, strict adherence to medical regulations, and a dedication to cultivating a supportive and trusting environment for our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess Patient Health: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health, including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Issue Prescriptions: Prescribe appropriate medications and administer treatments as needed, following medical guidelines.
  • Communication with Physicians: Inform physicians of any discrepancies, complications, or concerns that arise during patient care.
  • Patient History Review: Acquire and review comprehensive patient histories to inform treatment plans and medical decisions.
  • Monitor Progress: Track patients' progress, documenting treatments, surgeries, and other medical events in their records.
  • Prepare for Examinations: Prepare patients for examinations, surgeries, or other procedures, ensuring they understand the process and feel comfortable.
  • Routine Procedures: Conduct routine medical procedures and assist in more complex medical interventions as required.
  • Patient Care: Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion, ensuring patients feel supported and cared for throughout their treatment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to medical care regulations, safety standards, and ethical practices in all aspects of patient care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program
  • State of Michigan Physician Assistant licensure
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
  • Proven work experience as a Physician Assistant. Preference for candidates with previous pain management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical guidelines, examination procedures, therapy, and recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with advancements in medical technology and ability to integrate them into patient care.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Caring and compassionate demeanor, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
