Are you a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking a rewarding opportunity? Baptist Urgent Care in Starkville, MS, is looking for motivated LPNs to make a difference in patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As an LPN at Baptist Urgent Care, you will be instrumental in providing top-notch support to patients and our medical team. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, activating their files, and contributing to their overall care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations or procedures.
  • Record patient health histories and note any abnormal conditions for the physician.
  • Instruct patients on the collection of necessary samples and tests.
  • Obtain vital signs and escort patients to exam rooms.
  • Assist healthcare providers by preparing supplies, equipment, and aiding during treatments and examinations.
  • Administer injections and prescribed medications as directed.
  • Observing, documenting, and reporting patient reactions to drugs and treatments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entries into patient charts and maintain medical records.
  • Help schedule tests and treatments and arrange referrals to specialists.
  • Collect lab specimens and document lab test results.
  • Notify patients of test results and recommended follow-up appointments.
  • Clean and restock exam and treatment rooms.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Assist in physical exams and prepare patients for physicals.
  • Manage prescription orders and maintain inventory of medications.
  • Respond to and screen telephone calls, ensuring effective triaging of patients.

WHAT’S THE SCHEDULE?
Full-time shifts typically rotate between 36-40 hours per week, including 12-hour weekday shifts and every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled as needed.

WHAT’S REQUIRED?
A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is essential. Experience in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred. Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.
