What you'll do
We’re searching for an enthusiastic Human Factors Research Manager to lead our innovative Design and Human Factors Research teams in revolutionizing healthcare technology. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a talented group of Researchers dedicated to enhancing the user experience of our healthcare applications, from core EHR systems to the patient journey.
Your responsibilities include:

Guiding and mentoring your team while also conducting your own research; leading evaluations and usability initiatives from concept through delivery.

Partnering closely with product teams, engineers, clinical experts, and design researchers to integrate human factors engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle.

Applying your human factors expertise and the latest research methods to tackle complex healthcare technology challenges.

Conducting rigorous, empirical research while fostering creativity and innovation.

Ensuring all activities comply with regulatory standards, supporting quality and safety for our products.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Act as both a leader and contributor, performing research studies while supervising your team.

Utilize exceptional communication skills to effectively convey research insights to various audiences.

Collaborate with product management and design leads to uphold human-centered design practices in line with medical device regulatory standards.

Manage and mentor a diverse team of researchers, focusing on their growth and providing constructive feedback.
-
Support the team in managing workloads, meeting deadlines, and maintaining quality in research deliverables.

Facilitate conflict resolution and promote collaborative team participation.
-
Serve as a role model and encourage knowledge sharing among team members.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
-
8+ years of experience in human factors or UX research, especially in complex environments.
-
2+ years in a management role with responsibilities for hiring and performance evaluations.
-
Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution of research.
-
Experience in regulated industries and familiarity with standards applicable to human factors work.
-
Strong understanding of usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and risk assessments.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-
Experience in agile software development environments and managing human factors activities across projects.
-
Analytical mindset with a comfort in handling both qualitative and quantitative user data.

Experience in team building and mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees in relevant fields.

Experience in healthcare IT or clinical workflows.
-
Knowledge of conversational UI and AI-powered systems.

Advanced certifications in ergonomics or human factors.
-
Familiarity with accessibility and regulatory standards.

Experience with research tools such as UserZoom, Qualtrics, and more.

This position supports remote or hybrid work based on team needs.

Availability required between 8 am - 5 pm Central Time.

Fluency in English is required.
Salary and Benefits:
The expected salary range for this position ranges from $109,200 to $223,400 annually, with potential bonus and equity components. Oracle provides a robust benefits package, including healthcare, retirement plans, generous paid time off, and more.
