Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in patient care, handling both routine and critical situations. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing ventilation, and utilizing advanced respiratory technologies while collaborating with a supportive team of healthcare professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing respiratory status through focused exams, interpreting breath sounds, and determining the need for interventions.
• Delivering evidence-based therapy by administering oxygen support, aerosol medications, and airway clearance techniques across various care settings.
• Managing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements and monitoring patient responses.
• Supporting patients and the care team through patient education and collaboration with physicians and nurses.
• Maintaining equipment and safety by operating respiratory equipment and adhering to infection prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Associate Degree required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential is necessary.
