The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking a Design Engineer (GI) to join our Area-wide Green Infrastructure (GI) / Cloudburst Management.
The successful candidates will report an Engineer-In-Charge and will engage in engineering investigations; oversee consultant contracts for design and construction management services; review and develop drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for Green Infrastructure, Cloudburst Management, and other Infrastructure design projects. The Design Engineers will also participate in field surveys of existing conditions; prepare reports; engage in engineering reviews and studies; and develop designs with minimal supervision.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not provide sponsorship for international employees for visa applications, extensions or status changes, including STEM/OPT visas. ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER - 20210
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.
