Your Daily Endeavors
  • Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, and creating individualized care strategies
  • Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses-with the option to collaborate with physicians or work independently based on your credentials
  • Educating patients and their families on preventative strategies, wellness, and optimal disease management
  • Prescribing therapies and medications within the appropriate scope
  • Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care management efforts
  • Working within interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and holistic care experiences
  • Accurate and thorough documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Qualifications
  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • A degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Mandatory Certifications
  • Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or other equivalent specialties
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to attain within 90 days)
