Location: Evelyn Brandon Health Center, 81 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14608

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000

SUMMARY:

As a dedicated Addiction Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing assessment, treatment planning, case management, and counseling services for clients grappling with chemical dependency. You will operate within a collaborative clinical team framework, supervised by our experienced staff psychiatrist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver Substance Use Disorder treatment through individualized and group therapy sessions.
  • Complete progress summaries and all patient documentation efficiently and accurately.
  • Conduct quality audits of patient records and adhere to best practices.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine clients' diagnoses and suitable levels of care.
  • Facilitate engaging individual, family, and group counseling sessions that encourage client motivation.
  • Create customized treatment plans that reflect clients' unique backgrounds and needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and referral sources to enhance understanding of client issues.
  • Engage in professional supervision and education for continuous improvement in client care.
  • Maintain timely and comprehensive medical record documentation, complying with regulatory standards.
  • Achieve productivity goals through proactive client engagement techniques.
  • Contribute as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and delivering optimal patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least 1 year of relevant experience in a mental health or chemical dependency program.
  • CASAC certification, or CASAC-T with a commitment to full certification within 24 months, or OASAS QHP (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, or permit holder).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a Human Services field (Associates, Bachelors, or Master's level).

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: QHP - Qualified Health Professional - NYS OASAS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position entails primarily sedentariness, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds.

PAY RANGE:

$61,000.00 - $77,000.00

The salary range represented is a good faith representation of the potential base pay for qualified full-time applicants. Factors affecting final pay include experience, qualifications, specialty, location, and internal equity.
