What to Expect

Tesla is on a path to building humanoid robots atscaleto automate repetitive and boring tasks for manufacturing andlogistics. Our robot is an electro-mechanically actuated autonomous bi-pedal robot.

We are looking for Firmware Engineers to lead architecture, development andvalidation ofembedded firmware for systems on Tesla Bot, enabling our Tesla Bot to perform locomotion and manipulation. In this role, you will work closely with the electronics, actuator design, controls, and integration teams to architect, implement and test high performance, safety critical firmware over the full product life cycle.

What You'll Do
  • Development of real-time embedded software that implements control and safety management of the Tesla Bot actuators
  • Develop automated tests to ensure high quality software releases andaccuratefunctionality
  • Be involved in the full life cycle of firmware development from concept through integration, test, and release as our fleet of robot grows
  • Work closely with the hardware and control teams to specify hardware actuation and sensing requirements

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in real-time embedded software development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiencyin C, familiarity with MISRA C and Python are aplus
  • Experience with reading electrical schematics and understanding circuitbehavior
  • Knowledge of microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, GPIO,PWM,SPIand I2C
  • Experience working with sensors and digital signalprocessing

Expected Compensation $132,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
