We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of critical environments, including Class A commercial properties and healthcare facilities. This role ensures the safety, compliance, and functionality of essential infrastructure while providing exceptional service to occupants and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and preventive tasks across healthcare and commercial facilities.
  • Service clinical and ambulatory surgical centers, with occasional work in other commercial buildings.
  • Maintain, repair, and monitor HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Conduct minor electrical tasks (switches, outlets) and coordinate with licensed contractors for major wiring.
  • Perform mechanical tasks such as changing belts, greasing HVAC components, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Oversee vendor work and act as a point of contact for electricians and other service providers.
  • Support inspections, compliance efforts, and readiness for healthcare regulatory standards.
  • Utilize technology for documentation and communication (Microsoft Office, SharePoint).
  • Participate in on-call rotation (once per month) with additional pay for on-call hours and holiday coverage.
  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks using CMMS systems.
  • Communicate effectively with facility staff and occupants to resolve issues promptly.
  • Train on fire suppression systems and perform lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, including OSHA compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or similar roles (apartment complexes, hotels, schools, etc.).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between 1-2 buildings (mileage reimbursed).
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work from ladders in varying conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare facility maintenance.
  • Certifications such as Universal CFC, SMA, SMT, LEED.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, lighting systems, and vendor management.
