The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Kalamazoo seeking Automation Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing processes.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robots.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation system malfunctions and production issues.
- Optimize existing automation solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Lead the commissioning and validation of new automation equipment and production lines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all automation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and project scopes.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA system design, development, and integration.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotics programming and integration.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
- Ability to read, interpret, and design electrical control schematics.
- Experience with industrial robotics platforms (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB)
- Proficiency in industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
- Familiarity with SCADA/MES integration and industrial database solutions (e.g., SQL)
- Knowledge of Industrial IoT (IIoT) architectures and edge computing
- Experience with advanced CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
