Requirements
  • Credential as a Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC and current CPR certification are mandatory.
  • A minimum of eighteen months of experience in respiratory care is preferred, ideally within critical care environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary role of the Respiratory Therapist includes evaluating, treating, and caring for patients experiencing breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.

  • Deliver respiratory care according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Engage in the formulation and execution of patient care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations as well as professional guidelines.
  • Foster positive customer relations by communicating professionally with management, colleagues, facility staff, patients, family members, and other caregivers.
  • Provide education to patients and caretakers regarding therapy methods and objectives.
  • Accurately prepare and maintain patient records.
