Key Responsibilities
As a Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential personal care to patients, including:
- Changing bedding and clothing
- Bathing and assisting with hygiene routines
- Working with family members to instruct them on basic healthcare tasks
- Communicating regularly with registered nurses to update them on patient progress and family needs
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- At least 1 year of full-time direct client care experience in a hospital or nursing facility
- 1 year of direct client care experience within the last 5 years in a home health or hospice setting
- Completion of a state-approved training and competency evaluation program
- Registered and in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in your state
Additionally, you should possess a valid state driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Effective communication and the ability to form relationships with patients and their families are essential.
