We are seeking a dedicated and trustworthy Property Caretaker to oversee the daily care, maintenance, and security of a private residence in the coastal town of Indian River Shores (Vero Beach). The position is Live-On Site Houseman/Property Caretaker for their 8,000 sq. ft. beachfront residence situated on ~1.5 acres. The principals divide their time between Florida and a secondary home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This role involves general maintenance and oversight of the residence inside and out, light repairs, cleaning, handyperson tasks, and occasional cooking.

Schedule: Flexible, full-time role averaging 40 hours per week, with two days off.

Accommodation - A brand-new detached guest house on the property will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure tidiness and upkeep
  • Kitchen upkeep- Replace kitchen towels, manage dishwasher, wipe counters, clean sinks
  • Vacuum/mop main areas, master bedroom, and pet areas
  • Laundry - wash, steam, press, and put away laundry, linens, and clothing
  • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, appliances, windows, furnishings, and silver
  • Making bed and changing linen
  • Restock water coolers daily (kitchen and master bedroom)
  • Clean grill (as often as daily), patios, cabanas, pool deck, and outdoor furniture
  • Blow property perimeter, hose down pool deck, water palm tree, check mailbox, manage trash/recycling
  • Perform light repairs and routine maintenance (plumbing, electrical, lighting, hardware)
  • Coordinate with vendors/service providers; supervise access and monitor security systems
  • Prepare property for seasonal changes, including hurricane readiness
  • Assist with errands (groceries, dry cleaning, driving support)
  • Prepare 1-2 light meals weekly; assist with dinners/events as needed
  • Provide pet care (waste removal, dog walking, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in property/estate care or household management
  • Hands-on skills in basic maintenance and repairs
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, discreet, and reliable
  • Valid driver's license and ability to respond to urgent household needs

Compensation and Benefits: Starting at $72,000 annually, with PTO and housing provided. Additional benefits to be determined.
