Senior Software Engineer for Data and Machine Learning

This opportunity offers a flexible work arrangement, whether you prefer a fully virtual role or a hybrid setup at our Westbrook office. If you choose virtual, you must align your schedule with EST hours. As a Senior Software/Data/ML Engineer, you will design, build, and manage sophisticated data pipelines, machine learning applications, and rules-based classification systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Be a pivotal member of an Agile Scrum team, delivering cutting-edge capabilities and participating in strategic planning.
  • Drive innovation in technology and development practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with a dynamic team comprising Developers, Data QA Engineers, MLOps specialists, and Product Owners, ensuring excellent teamwork across various locations.
  • Have ample opportunities for professional growth through mentorship and skill development.
Qualifications:
  • Strong software design expertise.
  • Experience with major cloud providers, preferably AWS.
  • Proficiency in AWS Services like API Gateway, AWS Lambda, SQS, and S3.
  • Familiarity with version control using GitHub and experience with GitHub Actions.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and Java.
  • Experience with relational databases, especially AWS MySQL Aurora.
  • Capability in building and deploying web applications and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
  • Expertise in constructing large-scale data pipelines and scalable ML model training and inference systems.
  • Proficient in working with rules engines like Drools.
  • Experience in API testing with tools such as Postman.
  • Ability to develop CI/CD systems and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and MS Teams.
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD) is a plus.
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching junior team members.
