ROLE AND PURPOSE:

The Technology Warehouse Specialist is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the warehouse that handles technologyrelated equipment, inventory & control, receiving, supplies, device troubleshooting, and materials for the school district. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring safety and compliance, managing inventory, and acting as a liaison between the technology warehouse and other departments and/or vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with satisfactory driving record (required)
  • No positive drug or alcohol tests including pre-employment, random, post - accident or reasonable suspicion
  • Familiarity with IT equipment and basic technical troubleshooting (required).
Experience:
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience in a warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Experience operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment (preferred)
  • Must obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment
  • Acquire manufacture certification(s) within 1 year of employment
  • Comp TIA A+ certification required within 12 months; must maintain active Comp TIA A+ certification once obtained
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices
  • Proficient in using productivity software with strong proficiency using spreadsheet software
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems
  • Excellent mathematical skills with strong ability to quickly calculate cost of goods and services
  • Basic experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware issues, such as component replacement and troubleshooting peripherals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

I. INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:
  • Supervise and manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, issuing, assembling, testing, and delivering technology materials and supplies to district locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, manage parts and equipment, and conduct regular audits, ensuring proper stock levels, accurate records, and effective space management
  • Organize warehouse and parts cage, ensuring safety and efficiency while tracking inventory using asset management systems
  • Coordinate with IT staff for timely parts availability and assist with the shipping, receiving, and disposal of technology items
  • Assisting with diagnosing and resolving hardware issues, including component replacements and peripheral troubleshooting
  • Supporting routine maintenance and updates on district devices
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies, conducting regular safety checks and training sessions for warehouse employees
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to warehouse activities, such as inventory status and production schedules
  • Move moderate to heavy amounts of technology equipment during and after normal working hours
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the district
  • Report to supervisor(s) to provide support and recommendations for identified issues, projects, and initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity
  • Participate in appropriate training, in-service and workshop programs, and attend any required meetings
  • Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment and address any issues promptly
  • Perform knowledge transfer sessions with team members as needed
  • Adaptable to changing schedules to support high demand work loads
  • Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to communicate effectively, including speaking and listening. The role constantly involves walking, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and carrying moderate weight. Tasks frequently include climbing, lifting heavy objects, and sitting. The employee must be able to use hands for fine motor tasks, including handling objects and operating a keyboard and video display terminal. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. The employee must also be able to maintain emotional composure under stress. The work environment is a standard warehouse setting with typical warehouse equipment. Noise levels are generally low to moderate. The employee is frequently required to climb ladders and use lifting equipment. Typical working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to adjust hours based on district or employee needs.
