Clinical Director

Position Overview:
The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing all clinical services provided and program development at Horizon Recovery. This position involves managing a team of therapists, ensuring high-quality care, and adhering to all regulatory and ethical standards. The Clinical Director plays a key leadership role in driving clinical initiatives, enhancing therapeutic outcomes, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for adolescents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Leadership & Management
o Oversee all clinical operations within the adolescent behavioral health program.
o Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing training to the clinical team, including therapists, case managers, and support staff.
o Ensure that clinical services are evidence-based, client-centered, and align with Horizon Recovery's mission and values.
o Conduct regular case reviews and provide clinical supervision to assess treatment progress and provide feedback.
2. Program Development
o Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical programming for adolescents with behavioral health challenges.
o Integrate innovative therapeutic approaches and modalities that are age-appropriate and tailored to the specific needs of adolescents.
o Collaborate with other departments to create a seamless care continuum for adolescents.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
o Ensure that all clinical services comply with state and federal regulations, as well as professional ethical standards.
o Oversee the documentation process and ensure that clinical records meet legal and organizational standards.
o Lead quality assurance initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
o Ensure all clinical operations align with Joint Commission standards to support continuous accreditation readiness and quality care.
o Maintain full compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) regulations across all clinical programming and documentation.
o Provide bi-monthly clinical oversight and documented supervision to all BHTs and BHPPs to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to clinical standards.
4. Compliance & Quality Assurance
o Provide direct clinical care to adolescents and their families as needed, including individual, group, and family therapy.
o Manage clinical crises, provide guidance to staff in crisis situations, and ensure the safety of all clients and staff.
o Serve as the clinical point of contact for external stakeholders, including families, referral sources, and insurance providers.
5. Collaboration & Communication
o Act as a liaison between the clinical team and other departments such as administration, admissions, utilization management, and billing.
o Maintain open communication with families and caregivers, providing regular updates on treatment progress and addressing concerns.
o Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including schools, healthcare providers, and referral agencies.
6. Staff Development
o Recruit, hire, and evaluate clinical staff performance.
o Develop and implement training programs for clinical staff to ensure ongoing professional development.
o Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
7. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology (with a Clinical or Counseling focus), Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
• Active Independent clinical licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in the state of Arizona.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health setting.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of adolescent mental health issues, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage and resolve crises effectively.
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing behavioral health services.
LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ 85023
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday
SALARY: Between $100k-$120k
