HVAC Mechanic

ATI is seeking a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced HVAC Mechanic for a new facility located in Springfield, Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities

The HVAC Mechanic will maintain and repair HVAC equipment throughout a new facility located in Springfield, Virginia. This role involves working in secure environments in support of mission-critical operations.

Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Adding refrigerant to or removing refrigerant from equipment;
  • Installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems;
  • Cutting, welding, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures;
  • Replacing component and parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.);
  • Using power and hand tools safely to support the facilities;
  • Maintaining air and water treatment systems;
  • Inspecting refrigerant systems for leaks;
  • Reading blueprints & schematics, utility plans, mechanical drawings, and electrical and wiring diagrams; and
  • Entering data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance; Candidate must be able to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment;
  • Journeyman HVAC or Master HVAC license;
  • EPA Universal certification;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with the following:
    • Familiarity with building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC; and
    • Proficiency with ASHRAE standards to include ASHRAE 55 -Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, ASHRAE 62.1 - Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ASHRAE 180 - Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $48.58 - $60.00/hour depending on role, experience, and benefits selected.

Location: Springfield, VA

Working Hours: Normal Work Hours - Monday - Friday (anticipate 40 per week).
