PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Manage software development projects related to Sedgwick's Client Facing Applications (viaOne, mySedgwick, and Smart.ly). As a project manager, you will oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring timely delivery, defined scope, and stakeholder satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders (clients, business, and IT teams) to define and document project scope and objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules to monitor and track progress to completion.
  • Manage changes to project scope through appropriate approval techniques.
  • Conduct issue and risk management, escalating concerns to management as needed.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within agreed scope, objectives, and budget.
  • Create and maintain thorough project documentation according to established IT governance standards.
  • Participate in the organization's quality programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred, especially in computer science. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

You should have seven (7) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing application development projects is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understanding of claims management business and technology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management practices.
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional team projects.
  • Skill in managing multiple projects at various stages in the SDLC.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools and techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible in adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Highly adaptable with a quick learning curve for new roles and technologies.

The Client Facing Applications (CFA) project manager will serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, guiding projects from concept to implementation. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify business needs, work with IT leaders and development teams on solutions, and ensure alignment on project deliverables and timelines.

Key expectations include:

  • Quickly learn and apply CFA's project management processes to all projects.
  • Oversee multiple projects across all CFA products (mySedgwick, viaOne, Smart.ly, Sidekick, etc.) at various SDLC stages.
  • Manage high-visibility projects with professionalism, addressing issues swiftly and efficiently.
  • Lead cross-functional IT team initiatives.
  • Draft clear scope documentation with expectations and success criteria.
  • Ensure adherence to approved project scopes and escalate any out-of-scope requests appropriately.
  • Set and maintain project timelines.
  • Manage resources effectively and eliminate roadblocks to achieve on-time delivery of projects.
  • Monitor project estimates and communicate changes promptly.
  • Develop risk management plans and strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring all documentation is current and complete.
  • Ensure compliance with IT Systems Development Lifecycle Standards as defined by Sedgwick's IT Governance office.
