job summary:
A global leader in building solutions is looking for their next Project Development Specialist. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Kansas City MO. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of CAD experience. Revit or Tekla experience is preferred.

The Project Development Specialist is responsible for coordinating and preparing construction projects before they enter the formal Engineering phase. This role establishes project requirements for design-build and incoming projects, creating detailed descriptions and technical drawings to ensure efficient processing by the Engineering team. The Specialist acts as a crucial link, engaging in pre-coordination meetings, value engineering, and constructability reviews, while providing essential structural design services and technical expertise to both internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and customers.

Hybrid schedule: 2 days in office 3 days remote

5% profit sharing bonus

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of CAD experience

  • Ability to read drawings and understand scopes of work

  • Any background in steel buildings or construction is a plus

responsibilities:
  • Builds and develops CAD drawings (Permit and Anchor Bolt drawings for pre-construction use by builders, end clients, and internal customers.

  • Coordinates pre-construction drawings with production team and customer to verify pre-construction information accuracy. Ensures customer design service needs are met by meeting drawing and information collaboration deliverables and producing and managing drawing sets.

  • Develops and grows software and technical knowledge and skills to keep up with changes in software development.

  • Provides technical expertise to customers.
