Position Summary: As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will provide clinical expertise, education, consultation, leadership, and research to benefit patients, staff, and the organization. You will promote compliance with regulations and facilitate projects aimed at improving systems and processes.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut
- BSN from an accredited University (Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred)
- Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (must be obtained during orientation)
- Basic certification in specialty area preferred
Experience Requirements: Minimum of five years of progressive experience in clinical practice, nursing education, or nursing management in an acute care setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care.
- Assess the quality of care for specific patient populations.
- Create an environment of nursing excellence.
- Coordinate and implement orientation programs for nursing staff.
- Develop annual competencies and monitor compliance.
- Use a comprehensive approach to identify and resolve patient care issues.
- Participate in both formal and informal staff education.
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for staff.
- Utilize evidence-based practices in clinical procedures and educational materials.
