Powder Coat Technician

A confidential manufacturing organization, specializing in the defense industry, is seeking an experienced Powder Coat Technician to join its team. This role focuses on preparing and finishing metal parts for high-quality powder coating in a modern production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare parts for powder application (hanging, washing, plugging, scrubbing, taping, sanding).
- Perform powder coating and color changeovers to meet quality and efficiency standards.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot coating equipment.
- Inspect finished work and document results per quality procedures.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work independently and maintain safe operations in a busy production setting.
- 2+ years of powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred.
- VantageClear Certification or equivalent required.
- Ability to read blueprints, safety rules, and basic work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Associate or technical degree a plus.
