Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide professional nursing care for residents in long term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. You will demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles tailored to meet the needs of residents in a compassionate and effective manner.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered.
- Contribute to the assessment of residents and document interactions.
- Recognize problems and assist in emergent situations.
- Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
- Counsel residents and family members about prevention and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; Associate degree preferred.
- Unencumbered LPN license in state of practice.
- Completion of required continuing education units and competency training.
