Retail Sales Associate

Job Grade/Classification: Clerical/Non-Exempt

At Smoker Friendly, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to become part of our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused setting where providing an exceptional service experience is paramount.

Job Summary: In this role, you will assist customers with product selections, enhance their shopping experience, and contribute to our store's sales success. You will handle transactions, stock and organize products, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to identify their needs and highlight sales opportunities.
  • Enhance customer experience by sharing product knowledge and making personalized suggestions.
  • Recommend alternative products that may better suit customer preferences.
  • Work towards achieving and supporting sales goals for the store.
  • Operate cash registers and point of sale (POS) equipment efficiently.
  • Accurately handle monetary transactions, including cash and credit card payments.
  • Keep the store organized and orderly through regular cleaning and restocking of inventory.
  • Assist management with receiving, inventorying, and displaying products.
  • Support store security measures and report any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as necessary.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, hygiene, and consistent attendance.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum of one year of retail sales or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
