As a food and food service delivery driver, you play a vital role in maintaining the nation's food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customer products arrive at their destinations on time and in excellent condition, serving as the face of our company and building lasting relationships with our customers.

As a driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck for both local and interstate routes, handling the delivery and unloading of food and food-related products in a safe, timely manner, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
• Function as a team member within the department, performing various duties to best serve the company.
• Conduct all necessary safety checks (i.e., pre/post-trip) and inspect trucks and trailers to comply with DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and necessary repairs immediately.
• Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company driving policies, reporting safety hazards as they arise.
• Inspect trailers to ensure proper loading and securing of freight.
• Perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
• Accurately complete all required freight paperwork.
• Transport the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as required.
• Deliver customer orders following a predetermined routing schedule.
• Unloading products and securing items into designated customer storage areas.
• Conduct damage control checks on items, scanning and contacting supervisors for order removals according to policy.
• Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
• Collect payments where needed and load customer returns onto the trailer securely.
• Ensure that all equipment and freight are securely locked and handled appropriately.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing the necessary paperwork.
• Maintain a daily record of service hours, adhering to federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep tractors and docks clean and organized.
• At the end of your shift, secure all equipment and complete all required paperwork.
• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 months of commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Valid CDL A license.
• Compliance with state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug testing and background checks.
• Pass a road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
• Ability to lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates for moving products weighing between 10 and 90 pounds.
