Join J.B. Hunt as a Trailer Maintenance Technician

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, service, and repairs to J.B. Hunt trailers and equipment. With routine supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and ensure our fleet meets high standards at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Show knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs on trailer equipment, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems, and FHWA inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and perform intermediate-level repairs according to company and manufacturer's specifications, and accurately complete work orders while adhering to standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
  • Mentor and assist in the training of new trailer technician trainees.
  • Engage in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training for repairs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols in the shop environment.
  • Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt employees and customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience: 1+ years in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including military experience.
  • Certifications: Must be A/C certified and DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes.
  • Tools: Must provide basic tools or opt for our toolbox purchase program.
  • Willingness: Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Availability: Must be able to work multiple shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.

Compensation:

Starting pay may be influenced by skills, experience, geography, and other qualifications. This position might also be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives as outlined in the Company's bonus and incentive plans.
