Senior Data Center Operations Manager

As a Senior Data Center Operations Manager, you will lead the daily operations across multiple enterprise data centers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This dynamic role involves managing the Operator Services team and collaborating closely with the distribution center Facilities teams to oversee server room operations. You will also act as a key stakeholder for the enterprise Network Operations Center (NOC) and play an essential role in the IT Disaster Recovery program, aligning with the company's Business Continuity Planning team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of data center planning, environmental monitoring, and capacity management for several enterprise data centers and distribution center server rooms (25%).
- Coordinate with Applications Development and Infrastructure teams for effective IT capacity planning (25%).
- Manage the Operator Services team, focusing on employee performance management (20%).
- Provide oversight for enterprise production scheduling (5%).
- Coordinate and plan for essential daily job processing (5%).
- Serve as a key stakeholder in the company's enterprise Network Operations Center (NOC) (5%).
- Engage in multiple strategic business projects by providing vital support and input as needed (5%).
- Represent Operator Services and Data Center Operations as a key stakeholder in the company's Business Continuity Program (5%).
- Manage vendor relationships and budget planning across multiple cost centers (5%).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively multitask.
- Proficient understanding of enterprise automated batch job scheduling.
- Familiarity with various hardware types including Unix, IBM, Virtual Servers, Networking, and Storage.
- Knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery/BCP methods and Colocation practices.
- Adept in industry-wide best practices for data centers.
Work Experience & Education:
- Experience with managing a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool.
- Minimum of 5 years managerial experience leading a team of six or more, including team building and performance management.
- 5+ years of experience in Operator Services.
- 5+ years of managerial experience in overseeing multiple enterprise data centers.
- ITIL certification is required.
- A college degree is preferred.
