Radiology Technologist: Monday - Friday, 3:30pm - 12am Every Other Weekend required.

Pay Range: $25.12-$40.19

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures to diagnose diseases and injuries and evaluate the technical quality of radiographs. The technologist also provides procedural-related patient care and education and maintains records and documentation for procedures.

1. Operates and maintains imaging equipment to provide high-quality images for patient diagnosis. Obtains quality radiographs of patients in an acceptable timeframe; processes and accurately digitizes images with correct patient data.
2. Prepares patients for radiological procedures and follows established patient care and safety guidelines.
3. Uses appropriate technique and shielding combination to obtain optimal images while adhering to ALARA principles. Programs machine to the proper voltage current and desired exposure time as the physician dictates.
4. Troubleshoots equipment and scanner to ensure equipment is running smoothly to avoid downtime.
5. Assures that all work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Reports all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other hospital employees or supervisors immediately at all times.
6. Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the Radiology Information System reports.
7. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and that required supplies are readily available for procedures.
8. Assists in student training and participates in ongoing in-service training programs.
9. Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered all-inclusive.

1. Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
2. Exhibits ALARA principles when operating machine.
3. Able to address patient concerns during the procedure and explain the process to them to provide comfort, ensure their safety, and guarantee they receive the best care possible.
4. Capable of lifting moderate to heavy loads and standing for extensive periods.
5. Ability to use tact, courtesy, and poise while dealing with anxious patients.
6. Ability to troubleshoot equipment to ensure it is running smoothly to avoid downtime.
7. Ability to handle a high-stress environment in a calm manner.
8. Ability to use independent judgment.
9. Processes good communication skills.

1. Must be a Registered Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
2. Experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
3. Certification and/or Licensure: Any required certifications or licensures required. Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card/BLS.
