We are seeking a Client Portfolio Manager in our Elk Grove Village, IL location. This role will report to the Executive Vice President/Chief Commercial Banking Officer in the Commercial Banking department. The role is responsible for supporting the Commercial Banking area working directly with the Commercial Lender(s) with providing exceptional customer support, financial analysis and assistance with business development. Performs various duties pertinent to meeting the needs of customers and development of new business.
Portfolio Management
- Review and evaluate loan participation requests to ensure alignment with Bank standards and regulatory compliance.
- Assess the financial strength and operational capacity of correspondent banks and ensure completeness and accuracy of all related documentation.
- Coordinate with operations and analysts for periodic portfolio reviews. Track changes in credit quality and help maintain a high-performing loan portfolio.
- Identify documentation gaps, report issues to the Commercial Lender, and ensure timely resolution and follow-up.
- Communicate with clients to gather additional documentation, provide loan updates, answer inquiries, and serve as a liaison between clients and internal departments.
- Coordinates Commercial Banking pipeline for regular periodic portfolio review with operations and analyst teams to identify changes in credit quality, ensuring overall portfolio quality that meets or exceeds expectations.
Relationship Management
- Assist Commercial Lenders with marketing and sales process, including setting up and making joint calls.
- Communicates with commercial customers to obtain additional information and follow-up on requests.
- Answers customer's calls, research answers to questions and acts as a general liaison between customers and the Bank.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, banking or other related field/ combination of education/ experience sufficient to perform the job. As well as 4+ years of banking/ financial analysis/ business development/ relationship management experience and at least 2 years of banking experience required.
