Here's how a(n) Project Design Engineer for our Solar USA office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

• Reviews overall concept design, detailed layout, and DC electrical design.

• Reviews overall substation concept design and works with substation and PV engineers to co-ordinate the flowof information and optimize design details.

• Participates in estimates to secure new work including in renewable energy. Assist with performing conceptdesigns for feasibility and tendering in pre-contract stages and detailed design in the execution phase.

• Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts, including understanding risk and risk mitigation plans.

• Manage design development with external design consultants as well as the commissioning program.

• Assist with updating drawings and specifications

• Documents field records for quality, production, labor, and materials.

• Assists with inventory and tracking time sheets, costs, and quantities.

• Prepares quantity takeoffs.

• Assists in monitoring the quality plan, including conducting quality inspections.

• Conducts basic safety inspections and training, identifies and corrects safety hazards, and leads by example insafety practices and procedures.

• Assists the project team with subtrade partner management, including managing requests for information, shopdrawings, changes and billing and workforce planning.

• Assists with schedules and monitoring performance.

• Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture, trade or a related field

• 1-3 years of progressive experience as a drafter/designer is preferred

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D

• Ability to learn and apply basic construction principles, specifications, and procedures.

• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including supervisors and subtradepartners.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
