Shipping / Receiving Job Summary: Deliver exceptional customer service and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain knowledge of warehouse/yard layout, bin locations, and Etna's products.
  • Handle all materials, products, and equipment with care.
  • Pick, assemble, and package materials/products for shipment or counter pick-up.
  • Verify work to prevent shipping, receiving, and inventory errors; mark all products with customer name and carton count.
  • Complete all order/credit documentation accurately, noting shortages or damages.
  • Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments; put away products in proper locations.
  • Report vendor shipping errors per SOP and scan/file receiving, freight claim, and RGA documents.
  • Make deliveries promptly while maintaining positive customer relationships; secure loads and use tarps in poor weather.
  • Complete driver logs accurately, follow federal, state, local, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
  • Assist customers with loading/unloading; do not accept returns without proper documentation/authorization.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fluid/air levels; do not allow unauthorized passengers.
  • Provide backup support to the counter and other positions as needed.
  • Assist in warehouse/yard housekeeping and upkeep.
  • Maintain regular attendance and follow all safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Plumbing/Waterworks knowledge with an understanding of product application.
  • Effective communication, customer service, stress management, and detail orientation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Effective computer skills and basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills.
  • Effectively use GPS, read maps, and follow directions.
  • Effective use of cell phone and hands-free equipment while driving.
  • Maintain a professional image as a representative of the company.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma; or
  • Six months warehouse experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
  • Ability to pass operator exam and drive powered industrial equipment.
  • Valid Chauffeurs License
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequently required to talk and hear; walk and stand; push, pull, carry, grasp, and handle, and use fingers.
  • Regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach; sit; and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include clear vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, depth perception, and color vision.
  • Work performed both inside and outside with possible exposure to extreme weather.
  • Pass substance abuse screening.
