Fleet Maintenance Technician Level A

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Fleet Maintenance Technician Level A, you will work under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will carry out essential repair and maintenance work on both diesel and non-diesel vehicles, including a diverse range of equipment and trucks. Your responsibilities will encompass chassis components, refuse bodies (including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems), air brake systems, general engine maintenance, HVAC components, and systems related to suspension, drivetrain, and steering. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acquire and maintain advanced knowledge and strong skills in the following vehicle components and systems, enabling you to perform complex repair and maintenance functions both on-site and on the road.
- Carry out chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Handle refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems, along with air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Conduct engine repair and maintenance activities.
- Manage suspension, drivetrain, and steering system repairs.
- Work on heating and air conditioning systems.
- Engage in line maintenance welding and fabrication.
- Utilize various electronic tools to identify the source of malfunctions.
- Complete applicable training programs provided by the company.
- Perform any other job-related tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a technician specializing in heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to independently perform inspections and repairs on several heavy truck or automotive systems, including suspensions and steering, general engine work, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and drivetrain systems.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with LNG and/or CNG systems is a plus, though not a requirement.
- A Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not essential.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
