Senior Logistics Engineer

Position Purpose: As a Senior Logistics Engineer, you will spearhead significant cross-functional projects within Global Logistics, focusing on process enhancements, strategic initiatives, and capacity planning. Your work will bridge multiple departments, including Transportation, Delivery, Distribution, International Logistics, Inventory Planning, and Merchandising. In this role, you may also implement strategic initiatives, conduct operational analyses, and manage projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional strategic or process improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and guide junior Logistics Engineers.
• Present recommendations to senior management.
• Conduct thorough analysis including time studies, zero base analysis, rate and network analysis, statistical and supply chain analysis.
• Create and maintain metrics for various business units within Global Logistics.
• Identify opportunities for logistics process improvements using competitive analysis and critical thinking.
• Generate reports and execute ad hoc queries as needed.
• Establish business rules and standard operating procedures to enhance operational processes.
• Manage cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models effectively.
• Provide facility and capacity planning analysis for logistics operations.
• Review and recommend enhancements to existing systems and software.
• Develop metrics and key performance indicators for assigned business units.
• Design business tools and solutions capitalizing on your knowledge of relevant products and technologies.

• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members.

Travel Requirements:

• Overnight travel is typically less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Most work is conducted sitting comfortably, with opportunities for movement. Occasionally, light items may need to be lifted.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Visio.
• Advanced skills in Mini-tab, Access, SQL, Visual Basic, and specialized software as required.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Advanced data modeling abilities.
• Experience with finance, capital budgeting, and cost-benefit analysis.
