Mission

Reeves Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer based out of the Duncan, SClocation. The individual must possess strong analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills with a strong commitment to safety, integrity and ethics. The Project Engineer will support projects with a variety of functions, tasks, technical detail, and interpretations of project requirements.

Main Responsibilities

(Include, but not limited to the following):

  • Read and understand plans and specifications.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs.

  • Perform solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors.

  • Work on project site to observe progression.

  • Able to generate change orders for the project using estimating software.

  • Transfer of information from estimating software to job cost software.

  • Communicate roll out of projects with Project Manager, Superintendent and field personnel.

  • Perform safety requirements and ensure that risks are mitigated.

  • Perform submittals to agencies as required for construction of project.

  • Review and analyze job cost information – verify accurate and complete, address and or correct as necessary.

  • Communicate with Project Manager and Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.

  • Generate billing quantities from information provided by field personnel and contractual requirements.

  • Provide clear step-by-step directions and answer questions while organizing the project.

  • Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company’s policies.

  • Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Required:

  • BS Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering (or related field of study).

  • Good Communication skills and ability to work well with others in a Team environment.

  • Current, valid Driver's License (required) along with a driving record that meets company safety guidelines to operate a company vehicle (required).

  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical for a DOT Medical card (required).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
