Job Duties

  • Install and repair commercial roofing systems and flashings.

  • Remove old roofing materials (tear-off) and prepare roofs for new installations.

  • Sweep, clean, and maintain roofs, work areas, and equipment.

  • Load and unload roofing materials.

  • Lay insulation and roofing membranes; glue, prime, and roll walls and seams.

  • Nail off roof edges and properly finish curbs, pipes, flues, scuppers, pitch pans, and other details.

  • Cut and install tapered insulation systems and crickets.

  • Install drains, drainage components, walkway pads, and pavers.

  • Set rolls, cut in curbs and pipes, and perform detailed roof system work for EPDM and thermoplastic systems.

  • Operate rooftop tools, power tools, and roofing equipment safely and effectively.

  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks with accuracy and quality control.

  • Perform job-site safety tasks including:

  • Acting as a safety monitor

  • Ground monitoring

  • Signaling cranes and forklifts

  • Setting up ladders, scaffolds, hoists, flag lines, and guardrail systems

  • Maintaining all fall-protection systems

  • Follow all OSHA and company safety policies; use and maintain required PPE.

  • Complete career training as available.

  • Assist with additional day-to-day duties as needed.

Minimum Education Required
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Minimum Experience Required

  • 5+ years of commercial roofing experience (required).

  • Must have a clean driving record.

  • Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding labor (climbing, carrying, kneeling, crouching, lifting).

  • Experience installing EPDM and thermoplastic roof systems and performing detailed roofing work.

  • Ability to read instructions, communicate clearly, and work independently.

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.

  • Must demonstrate Horizon Roofing’s core qualities: hardworking, customer-driven, safety-minded, quality-focused, and positive attitude.
